Group 5 Travelogue

 TRAVELOGUE  Shanella Victor  Mount Buntay  Our journey to Mount Buntay began, as many adventures do, with a somewhat vague Facebook post. It mentioned a new hiking spot near Santa Magdalena in Sorsogon, a place perfect for escaping the noise of city life and enjoying the peace of nature. Intrigued, we set out with minimal information, relying on word-of-mouth directions and a healthy dose of adventurous spirit. There were no readily available maps or google maps. The mountain remained largely uncharted on digital platforms. This lack of information added to the thrill, transforming the hike into a true exploration.   The trail itself was a journey of discovery. We navigated unmarked paths, often relying on the kindness of local residents to guide us. The route took us through areas near Pakol Hills, familiar territory that provided a sense of orientation before venturing into the more remote sections of the trek.  Nature Writing  Campus in the Rain  By Shanella Victor    A chill wind, sharp as winter's breath, kissed my skin. Tall taro plants swayed in a frantic dance, their broad leaves rustling a counterpoint to the serene stillness of the palm trees. The rice paddy beyond the campus lay veiled in a soft, rain-blurred haze. Muddy paths, slick with the recent downpour, mirrored the sky's grey expanse. The rain, a relentless curtain, washed over everything, a captivating symphony of nature. It was a day for quiet contemplation, for the slow, deep breaths that only the sound of rain can inspire—a prelude to a peaceful slumber, and the promise of awakening to a chorus of birdsong.
